The Pudding Street bridge and ramps over the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley, NY are open.  This opening comes months ahead of schedule and will eliminate the need for detours, especially during the winter months, which will be a tremendous benefit to commuters, emergency service providers and residents.  HVEA is providing construction inspection services for this project and expects to complete this project by summer 2021.

HVEA is pleased to have been awarded the high-profile Poughkeepsie Urban Trail project in the City and Town of Poughkeepsie. The goal of this exciting project is to develop an urban shared-use facility that is desirable to all types of users, connect communities with the resources of the area, and to provide the traveling public alternate means of transportation. This 2.7 mile urban trail runs through the heart of Poughkeepsie along two spurs of the former CSX right-of-way and will connect the communities and businesses in the City of Poughkeepsie to the Dutchess Rail Trail, local colleges and the Hudson River waterfront.

HVEA Engineers has the ability to deploy an aerial drone, flown by one of our FAA licensed operators.  The drone allows us to get up-close HD views of hard to reach project elements and/or to assist in acquiring first-hand, detailed knowledge of a project area, evaluate traffic flow and inspect structures. This technology is especially useful in areas where high-volume traffic is present. We also use our drone technology to provide time lapse photography on our construction inspection projects including the Taconic State Parkway at Pudding Street in Putnam Valley, NY.

On January 15th, Mia Nadasky was awarded the NYSATE Section-8 Transportation Professional of the Year (TPOY) for 2020. Each year, the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers (NYSATE) solicits resumes from experienced transportation professionals- both NYSDOT and consultant employees- who work and live in Region 8. The Section-8 TPOY scores the candidates and selects the highest scoring transportation professional as the TPOY for that year. In addition to being awarded the Section-8 TPOY, Mia is also one of three finalists for the Statewide TPOY to be decided at the 80th annual NYSATE Conference to be held in Ithaca, NY from June 8th to June 11th, 2020.
