Bridge Maintenance By Contract, D037607
HVEA provided construction inspection, quality control and oversight on this NYSDOT Bridge Maintenance by Contract project. The project encompassed numerous rehabilitation techniques on six different bridges throughout the Region. Work included replacing a superstructure with precast concrete deck slabs; deck joint replacements; concrete deck repairs; concrete deck widening; concrete wearing surface/deck replacements; concrete approach slab replacements; concrete repairs to abutments and piers; concrete cap beam and pedestal repairs and replacements; concrete pier removal and replacement; bearing replacement; asphalt wearing surface replacement; structural steel repairs; and cleaning and painting of structural steel; hydro demolition of bridge decks, winter earthwork, winter concrete & winter concrete for decks; jacking of superstructures; and structural lifting.
Extensive work zone traffic control was an important part of this contract. Included were permanent and temporary lane closures; lane closure restrictions; and detours. This project utilized nighttime construction particularly on I-84.
This project was comprised of the following bridges:
- Senasqua Road over Route 9, Village of Croton-on-Hudson
- Route 9 NB/SB over Fishkill Creek, Town of Fishkill
- Route 17A over Wawayanda Creek, Village of Warwick
- I-84 WB over Route 52, Town of East Fishkill
- Taconic State Parkway SB over Baird Park Entrance Road, Town of LaGrange
