Kanawauke Road Rehabilitation: NYS Thruway to Little Long Pond
HVEA designed and provided construction inspection services for this project that rehabilitated Kanawauke Road and its appurtenances.
Kanawauke Road, as well as several driveways along the roadway, were resurfaced and marked. Also included the resetting and replacement of deficient guide railing and signage, resurfacing the existing pavement and replacing or extending deficient culverts and catch basins. Special design considerations needed to be taken to ensure minimal impact to the surrounding parkland. HVEA had 3R design standards approved for the project to aid in mitigating the impact of the construction.
This project was funded with federal funds and was progressed under the oversight review of the NYSDOT Local Projects Group.

- 4.13 miles of roadway rehabilitation
- Roadway drainage
- Signing and pavement markings
- Retaining walls
- Provided construction inspection services including an Office Engineer
