Lime Kiln Road Bridge over Ten Mile River
Dover, NY
HVEA provided design services during construction and construction inspection services for this bridge rehabilitation project. The existing bridge superstructure was sandblasted to white metal, and HVEA designers inspected the condition of the members and designed repairs. The stringers, bearings, and the existing deck were all replaced, and riveted connections were redesigned and replaced with bolted connections. HVEA also designed repairs to the lateral bracing and floor beams.
As a federal aid local project, this project was subject to the rigorous oversight requirements mandated by the NYSDOT Local Projects Unit. NYSDOT MURK processes were followed to ensure compliance with FHWA guidelines.
