New Hempstead Road Reconstruction

Ramapo & Clarkstown, NY



HVEA provided construction inspection services for this locally administered federal aid project that reconstructed approximately 2.0 miles of New Hempstead Road (County Road 80) between the Palisades Interstate Parkway and Main Street in New City, within the Towns of Ramapo and Clarkstown.

This project included:

  • Full depth rehabilitation of pavement
  • Property acquisitions
  • Roadway drainage
  • Signal modifications
  • Granite curbing
  • Signing & pavement markings
  • Retaining walls/landscaping
  • Bridge & Culvert replacements

HVEA was responsible for all MURK project work including inspection report and report review, estimate and quantity compilation, material acceptance and testing documentation, soil and erosion control monitoring (SPDES), meeting coordination, EEO reporting, and weekly preparation of contractor payment.

In addition to construction inspection services, HVEA also performed field and laboratory testing of concrete, embankments, aggregate and soil compaction.
