HVEA provided construction inspection services on this $70 million reconstruction of the NYS Thruway Interchange 17 in Orange County, New York. As a subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering Group, we provided several key staff members to the inspection team, including the Chief Inspector, two Assistant Office Engineers, and Senior Inspector (bridges).

HVEA also provided oversight of stormwater management, erosion control and environmental compliance, providing professional engineering services to monitor conformity with NYSDEC and ACOE permits and wetland regulations. Our CPESC certified erosion control specialist performed weekly inspections and consulted with the team on a variety of erosion control and wetland issues.

This project included:

• Construction of six new bridges, multiple ramps and auxiliary lanes
• Geosynthetic reinforced earth walls
• New closed drainage systems, stormwater detention ponds, and wetland creation
• Stormwater Management plan
• NYSDOT MURK procedures
