Taconic State Parkway at Pudding Street Interchange

Putnam Valley, NY

HVEA was the prime consultant for the $29M reconstruction project for the Taconic State Parkway at Pudding Street Interchange. A major transportation corridor in the Hudson Valley, the Taconic State Parkway had experienced high levels of traffic accidents at the Pudding Street interchange. Pudding Street was a critical at-grade crossing for the residents, school district, traveling public and emergency services. NYSDOT committed to build a full diamond interchange and new multi-girder bridge to improve this intersection and HVEA led the construction inspection and materials testing services for this project.

This project included:

  • Installation of a full diamond interchange at the former TSP and Pudding Street at-grade intersection.
  • Construction of a new, two-span steel multi-girder bridge to carry Pudding Street over the TSP as well as realignment to accommodate this new configuration.
  • Detailed inspection and on-site field testing of materials.
  • Field measurement and collection of data, final estimates and project reports, and preparation of record plans showing all changes from the contract plans.
