HVEA provides a range of services including design and construction inspection of transportation infrastructure, consulting and construction materials testing services. 

We are seeking a Senior CADD Engineering Technician for our Beacon, NY office.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

Expertise:

• Experience in Microstation and Autocad drafting software.
• Knowledgeable in NYSDOT and MTA CAD standards & protocol.
• Can convert field survey site data received from others to client CAD standards.
• Can assist with development of proposal and presentation materials as needed.

Duties:

• Train and support engineering staff in CAD software and drafting standards to meet client agency standards.
• Sets internal drafting standards and monitors staff adherence.
• Sets up project templates & monitor CAD folder structure for consistency between projects.
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates CAD work with outside firms to provide deliverables that meet client expectations.
• Stay current with CAD trends through design software training websites / shares information with staff.
• Reviews plans for appearance quality prior to client delivery.
• Assists engineers with research as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• 6+ years of relevant CAD experience.
• Proficiency using Bentley Software (MicroStation, Inroads, etc.)
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency using Project Wise and AutoCAD and Autodesk.
• Proficiency with Sketchup 2014 creating 3D models.
